I am an artist, painter, and also a scavenger who believes the stories of our property are best told by the relics left behind in the paddocks. My metal artwork has been created from objects foraged from the paddocks and sheds of our rural cattle property in the Western Downs. For me they are the essence of our property. Of and from our paddocks. Telling the stories of those who have come before.
The rust in the scavenged objects of shed and paddock, represent the struggle of life on the land. These items were found in “my backyard” and I love recycling them to create interactions between the materials to signify the landscapes so familiar to me in the Western Downs.
